Favel Parrett to appear at Perth Writers Festival
Favel Parrett is a Victorian writer who loves to surf in the Southern Ocean. In 2009 she was awarded a Mentorship from the Australian Society of Authors for her first novel and has been awarded a ‘Book2′ grant by The Australia Council for her second novel, which she is currently working on.
‘Past The Shallows’, Favel Parrett’s debut novel was published to universal acclaim in 2011. Hauntingly beautiful and told with an elegant simplicity, it is the story of two brothers growing up in a fractured family on the wild Tasmanian coast. The consequences of their parents’ choices shape their lives and ultimately bring tragedy to them all.
