Christine Morton-Shaw

Christine Morton-Shaw grew up in Blackburn where she began writing at the age of seven. Before she took the plunge into becoming a writer she had a number of jobs in unusual places including a hospital laundry, a medicine factory and a butchers! Christine has also managed to fit in a MA in Creative Writing from Sheffield Hallam University into her busy life.

Christine has had six books published which include Run Rabbit Run (Bloomsbury) which won The English 4-11 Award for Best Children's Illustrated Book of 2001. Her first book for Orchard Books, Itzy-Bitzy House, is wonderfully illustrated by Arthur Robbins. With hilarious rhyming text, Christine tells the story of some animals trying to find shelter from the rain.

Christine lives in Sheffield with her husband Greg, who is also her unofficial editor, and their six children. Her interests include pub quizzes, films, reading and French Boules
