Dilys Rose was born in Glasgow and lives in Edinburgh. A critic for the Scotsman, she is also a playwright, poet and the author of three collections of short stories, and a novel. She has won the Robert Louis Stevenson Memorial Award, the Macallan/Scotland on Sunday Short Story Award, a Society of Authors Travelling Fellowship, and most recently a Scottish Arts Council Writer's Award for War Dolls
