Dr Thivi Maruthappu studied medicine at Oxford University and Imperial College, then completed her dermatology training at several prestigious teaching hospitals in London. In 2018, she was appointed a consultant dermatologist at the Royal London Hospital. She has also completed a MRC-funded PhD and a fellowship in medical dermatology at the renowned St John's Institute of Dermatology, in addition to a certificate in nutrition science from Stanford Medical School.
She is an advisory consultant on product innovation for world-leading beauty companies such as Procter & Gamble and works closely with the Skin Health Alliance on skincare safety. As a spokesperson for the British Skin Foundation she is regularly featured in the media including BBC Radio, the Sunday Times and the Daily Mail amongst others.
