The Joy of Socks: A Gourmet Guide to Sockmating: A Parody

Emlyn Rees, Josie Lloyd

Write Review

Rated 0

Prose: non-fiction, Humour

A take on the classic, bestselling sex manual The Joy of Sex, THE JOY OF SOCKS is a new parody from the bestselling authors of We're Going on a Bar Hunt, The Very Hungover Caterpillar and The Teenager Who Came to Tea.

Socks are deeply unsexy. Almost as deeply unsexy as The Joy of Sex itself.

Instead of featuring academic and distressingly detailed illustrations of hairy 1970s people having sex as The Joy of Sex did, THE JOY OF SOCKS will show different types of socks on the job instead. All kinds of socks: dirty socks, pop socks, novelty socks, sporty socks, wet socks, grey socks and odd socks, to name but a few. And in all kinds of intriguing and over-explained positions, environments and scenarios (for example, the office party and on a plane). The book will also feature an all-new Karma Socktra . . .

THE JOY OF SOCKS will be written in the same affectionate, self-knowing style as Josie Lloyd and Emlyn Rees's other parodies, poking fun at ourselves as a species and ridiculing how we approach and discuss sex, exaggerating to comic effect throughout but in a witty, non-pornographic way - allowing this to be the kind of book that can be left around anywhere without being in danger of upsetting anyone.
