Gillian Bouras

Gillian Bouras was born in Melbourne and lived in Australia before moving to Greece with her husband and children in 1980. Her first book A Foreign Wife was written about this experience, and was followed by A Fair Exchange. Her novel Aphrodite and the Others won a NSW State Literary Award and was shortlisted for the UK Fawcett Book Prize. Gillian is also the author of A Stranger Here, Starting Again and Saving Christmas. Gillian s latest book No Time for Dances was published by Penguin in 2006.
Anna Pignataro studied Design and Fine Art in Melbourne then traveled the world painting and drawing. She also taught art to children for several years and exhibits regularly in galleries around Australia and overseas. Her first picture book, I m in the Sky and I Can t Come Back, was joint winner of the Crichton Award (with Shaun Tan s The Viewer) in 1998; The Staircase Cat was shortlisted for CBCA Picture Book of the Year in 1999 and the YABBA Awards in 2000; Unknown was a CBCA Notable Book in 2001 and published in the USA. Her previous Lothian picture books are The Very Super Adventures of Nic and Naomi by Venero manno, Delightful Delilah by Nigel Gray; Loni and the Moon by Esther Takac and The Great Big Animal Ask by Libby Hathorn. Anna lives in Mt Martha, Victoria.
