Once upon a time, an angel and a devil fell in love and dared to imagine a new way of living... The astounding, must-read sequel to Laini Taylor's breathtaking DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE.
Once upon a time, an angel and a devil fell in love and dared to imagine a new way of living - one without massacres and torn throats and bonfires of the fallen, without revenants or bastard armies or children ripped from their mothers' arms to take their turn in the killing and dying.
Once, the lovers lay entwined in the moon's secret temple and dreamed of a world that was a like a jewel-box without a jewel - a paradise waiting for them to find it and fill it with their happiness.
This was not that world.
I like to spread the word when I come across a book that excites me. I read Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor last weekend (sequel to Daughter of Smoke and Bone) and I'm all fired up about it. Thank you, Ms. Taylor, for a thrilling couple of days. I am in your debt. (Warning readers: this is one of those series that will have you tearing at your hair and gnashing your teeth waiting for the next installment. Be prepared.) - Stephenie Meyer

I'd been itching for the sequel of Smoke and Bone since finishing Laini's first book in one feverish sitting - and it was worth the wait. The second instalment is much darker, with more epic battles, suffering and loss . . . The ending is absolutely incredible - with a twist that completely catches you by surprise, leaving you dying to find out what happens next. The only downside is that I now have to try and keep myself occupied until the next book is ready. - Glamour.com

For once the frenzy over a teen novel is justified. DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE by Laini Taylor is one of those books that blots out reality, so consum
I finished this book drunk on the power of Laini Taylor's words. She took me to an entirely new dimension where other novels can only dream of sneaking glimpse of. Daughter of Smoke and Bone is an experience, not a story. This is by far one of my favourite reads of 2011. Heck, one of my favourite reads of all time. - Elusian Mysteries Blog
A masterful mix of reality and fantasy with cross-genre appeal. Exquisitely written and beautifully paced. - Publishers Weekly Starred Review on DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE
Hi! I write fantasy books. My latest is STRANGE THE DREAMER, about a young librarian, a mythic lost city, and the half-human children of murdered gods. Check it out :-) Before that I wrote the DAUGHTER OF SMOKE & BONE trilogy, which has been translated into 32 languages. It's about a blue-haired art student raised by monsters, a broken angel, and a war that has raged for 1000 years in another world. I also wrote LIPS TOUCH: THREE TIMES, which was a National Book Award finalist, and the DREAMDARK books. As well as various short stories and novellas.
Thanks for reading!!
