Lisa Potts

Lisa Potts has received much deserved publicity because of her bravery in shielding the infants in her care from the attacks of a man with a machete in the school playground in Wolverhampton where she was employed as a nursery nurse. She has been given many awards including the Sunshine Award, sponsored by the Sun newspaper, the Daily Star Gold Award and the Silver Cross for Gallantry, and she was short listed for the BBC Personality of the Year and the BBC Woman of the Year. In 1997 she was awarded the George Medal. She is author of BEHIND THE SMILE (her autobiography), THANK YOU, GOD and HEROES FOR A DAY.
