Liz Allen was born in Dublin in 1969. She wrote her first newspaper article at the age of fifteen, whilst still at school. She worked on several national newspapers in Dublin for thirteen years, a career which took her into the depths of the Irish underworld and the judicial system, where she was called by the State to give evidence against several high-profile gangland figures. In 2001 she left journalism and in 2002 began work on her first novel. She lives in Dalkey, Co. Dublin, with her husband, Andrew and their two daughters.
