Melvin Burgess

Melvin Burgess grew up i nSussex and Berkshire. After doing poorly at school, he worked as a journalist, fabric paintier, gardener and bus conductor - but was mostly unemployed. Melvin now lives in Lancashire. His novels Cry of the Wolf, An Angel for May and The Baby and Fly Pie were all shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal.
