Robert Lovell

Robin Lovell was born in Plymouth in England, and moved to Australia in 1951. He went to school in Lakes Entrance, after which he moved to Melbourne. He spent over twenty years working as a writer-based creative director in advertising, meeting David Miller during this time, who was an art director. After travelling the world with his work, he left advertising in 1987 and since then has written freelance in a variety of media. Robin is married with two children, and lives in Tootgarook, Victoria. His previous picture book, also illustrated by David Miller, was Where There s Smoke

Illustrator David Miller is a Melbourne-based illustrator who specialises in paper sculpture. His first book was You Can Make Paper Sculptures, which was quickly followed by the acclaimed Boo to a Goose by Mem Fox. You Can Do Thousands of Things with String and more picture books have followed, including What s for Lunch?, Carousel, Just Like You and Me, Over the Hill and Around the Bend with Granny and Bert and Me and Ringle Tingle Tiger by Mark Austin. David s Refugees (March 2004) was shortlisted by the CBCA in 2005. His most recent book, Where There s Smoke, also written by Robin Lovell, was published in 2005. David lives in Wonga Park, Victoria.
