Stanley J. Browne

Stanley James Browne was born in Hackney, East London, UK in 1970 and is of Jamaican and Antiguan parentage. He is the second child of four and grew up in the care system from the age of five. He is an artist, singer-songwriter and an award-winning actor. He trained at the Anna Scher Theatre School in North London and was awarded the sole scholarship for men at the Mountview Acting Academy in classical theatre.

Throughout his career, he has appeared in both television and film, and has performed at venues such as the Globe Theatre, the National Theatre Studios, and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His notable stage performances include Titus Andronicus (2013), Chigger Foot Boys (2017), Romeo and Juliet (2019), and One Under (2019). He won the best actor in a lead role award for his work in Bethlehem Lights (2017) and garnered rave reviews for his performance of Shakespeare's Othello (2011).

Little Big Man (Jacaranda Books, 2022) is his first book.
