Prose: non-fiction, Religion: general, Christian life & practice, Self-help & personal development

The ultimate self-help book for rescuing your marriage from the authors of the bestsellers Wild at Heart and Captivating.

You live in a love story set in the midst of a very real war...

What Wild at Heart did for men, and Captivating did for women, LOVE & WAR will do for married couples everywhere. John and Stasi Eldredge have contributed quintessential works on Christian spirituality for men and women separately but now they turn their focus to the incredible union between those two forces marriage. With refreshing openness, the Eldredges discuss their own marriage and the insights they ve gained from the challenges they ve faced. Both speak independently to the reader about what they ve learnt, giving their guidance personal immediacy and balanced male and female perspectives.

John and Stasi begin LOVE & WAR with an obvious but necessary acknowledgement: marriage is fabulously hard. For every minute of happy delirium, there are equal amounts of disappointment and frustration and a sense that we ve been deluded, that this isn t the marriage we dreamed of. Once we admit this, we are free to accept the great adventure of marriage; working together through strength gained from our own individual relationships with God, rather than looking to each other for happiness.

Praise for Love & War

  • The Eldredges' book LOVE & WAR is the most honest, helpful and healing book on marriage that I have read. I have no hesitation in commending it to every married couple. - J.John

  • The Eldredges newest book has bestseller written all over it - Publisher's Weekly

  • John and Stasi nailed it. This book opens to an untouched snapshot of a real, live redeemed marriage and closes with hope and hunger for our own. These two have proved again and again that they're willing to put themselves out there for somebody else's sake. Is it any wonder God uses them like He does? The moment we decide to throw more energy into fighting for our mate than with him, the crack of a fist on the enemy's jaw splits the ears of angels. - Beth Moore, author of Get Out of That Pit and Breaking Free
