Uju Asika is a multiple award-nominated blogger with thousands of regular readers who visit her silly, serious, and occasionally random, blog Babes About Town. Her background is in arts and culture journalism, having written for the Guardian, Time Out and Salon.com, among other outlets. Over the past six years, she has been a screenwriter and script editor for some of Africa's leading daily TV dramas including the award-winning Tinsel, Hotel Majestic and Hush, broadcast across 47 countries. Uju has also dabbled in poetry (IC3: The Penguin Anthology of Black Writing in Britain), TV production (The Apprentice Africa) and film publicity (Bullet Boy).
She is the founder/lead strategist of Mothers & Shakers, a digital network providing social media consulting and training for mums, bloggers and family brands. Being a child of the globe, Uju Asika has lived in Africa, North America, and Europe. She has a BA English Literature from UCL and an MA in Magazine Journalism from New York University.
