Along with a key role in the Marvel Comics event Secret Wars, The Black Panther has become one of the most prominent characters in the Marvel Universe.
So now more than ever he deserves a series that lives up to the hype and the expectation and OH BOY does A Nation Under Our Feet deliver. Written by National Book Award winner and MacArthur Genius Ta-Nehisi Coates and illustrated legendary artist Brian Stelfreeze, this pairing is possibly the most significant event since Joss Whedon and John Cassaday launched Astonishing X-Men.
In fact, Black Panther: A Nation Under Our Feet is similar to Astonishing X-Men in more ways than one. An impending of a revolution is the perfect threat to match the inner turmoil consuming T’Challa.
The world of Wakanda itself is brought to life so meticulously and with such lush by artist Brian Stelfreeze. From the buildings and technology to the various supporting players in this epic story, Wakanda is a world that feels lived in, that has a history and is nonetheless inviting to the uninitiated.
This is a great time to learn about the Black Panther and an even better one if you’re already a fan.
