Peter Kay has achieved national popularity since he first won the North West Comedian of the Year award in 1996. He's since won four British Comedy Awards, four Royal Television Society awards, the Rose d'Or at the International Television Festival at Montreaux, and a prestigious BAFTA/LA award for his 2009 television special Britain's Got the Pop Factor. Peter wrote, directed and starred in That Peter Kay Thing, Max & Paddy's Road to> Nowhere and two series of the BAFTA-winning Phoenix Nights. Peter is regarded as one of the UK's most prolific stand-up comedians, his The Tour That Doesn't Tour Tour has become the biggest comedy tour in British history. Peter has written two volumes of his autobiography. The Sound of Laughter ranks as the fastest-selling British hardback autobiography of all time. Peter lives with his family in beloved home town of Bolton.
