Valerie-Anne Baglietto was born in Gibraltar in 1971. Her grandfather and great-grandfather were both writers, so Valerie-Anne keeps the tradition in the family and writes under her maiden name. Although she always wanted to be a novelist, she worked in London as a graphic designer for a couple of years while scribbling fiction in her spare time. In 2000 she won the Romantic Novelists' Association New Writers' Award for her first novel The Wrong Sort of Girl. She lives in North Wales with her husband and young family.
