Dr Norman Swan, the trusted voice of Australian health for more than 30 years, will publish So You Think You Know What’s Good For You? with Hachette Australia this July. The book covers everything from nutrition to sex, and is focused on answering common questions people have while revealing evidence and unveiling myths, which will often surprise and allow readers to refocus on their wellbeing.
A multi-award-winning producer, broadcaster and investigative journalist, Dr Norman Swan is renowned and loved for delivering straight, honest, common-sense health information, and has spent his career dedicated to giving the public unique insights into their health. When the news on COVID-19 unfolded, Dr Swan stepped up to answer Australians’ questions and cover the key issues with clear, evidence-based information across multiple programs and platforms, including co-hosting the highly subscribed and award-winning daily Coronacast podcast (with up to three million downloads per month).
Norman Swan says: ‘No-one’s got time to waste on stuff that doesn’t matter, is wrong or isn’t focused on your needs. Our minds have been filled with things to worry about from insomnia, to screen addiction, to guilt about not eating a paleo diet, to when will my eggs clap out and when will his sperm, to what really can make us live longer better? My aim is to get you to worry less and give you the information that’ll allow you to make sensible decisions, whether you’re 25 or 75.’
Hachette Australia's Head of Non-Fiction, Vanessa Radnidge, says: ‘In Dr Norman Swan’s debut book, he does what he always does so well, gives us facts we often have been unaware about and shares the scientific information we need to make informed decisions about what we put into our bodies, what we do with our bodies and what we need to know about our bodies to maintain positive health and wellbeing. Accessible, witty, informative and easy to understand, Dr Norman Swan delivers exactly what we need without fear or favour: knowledge.’
Hachette Australia CEO, Louise Sherwin-Stark, says: ‘Hachette Australia is thrilled to be publishing Dr Norman Swan. Dr Swan is the expert Australians turn to for the best advice and guidance on health and wellbeing. Dr Swan listens to our health concerns and has the answers to our most pressing questions to guide us to better health. We know that So You Think You Know What’s Good For You? will become the trusted guide to good health for all Australians.
