The fifth ebook-exclusive novella in the brand new INVADER series, set in Roman Britain, AD 44, from Sunday Times bestselling authors Simon Scarrow and T. J. Andrews

A new Druid sect has risen to power in Britannia under the leadership of a charismatic native who has vowed to drive their sworn enemy from the land.

Rome, however, is in no mood to negotiate with the Druids and time is running out for the soldiers of the Second Legion being held captive before they're sacrificed to the gods in a horrific spectacle.

With the outcome of the entire invasion hanging in the balance, Optio Horatius Figulus must locate the Druid lair and rescue his loyal comrades in a daring raid deep into enemy territory. But Figulus quickly discovers that the Druids are not the only force trying to undermine Rome's position in Britannia. There is a conspiracy far closer to home, and it's up to Figulus and his fellow soldiers to put a stop to it before it's too late. They'll have to draw upon all their courage and wits if they are to prevail - and save the Second Legion from a devastating defeat.
