A stunning reissue of this picture book favourite from the creator of Hugless Douglas.

Starring two fabulously fun characters - a bear with a banjo and a star-faced crocodile - this is a tale of friendship and music. Told with warmth and wit and accompanied by vibrant watercolour artwork, it teaches us how to respect the world we live in and the delicate balance of nature.

A starry celebration of friendship from the creator of the bestselling Hugless Douglas series, which has sold over 1.4 million copies in 26 languages.

Praise for The Star-faced Crocodile: A dazzling book about being yourself

  • This is a lovely book and David Melling's illustrations are excellent. - writeaway.org

  • Bears and crocodiles - usually the villains of the piece - are, in this sweet story, just two lost souls looking for a friend. .... I wasn't surprised to learn that this book had been written in collaboration with a class of school children - there is a certain naive stream-of-consciousness feel to the plot that only adds to its appeal. - Carousel

  • Endearing and poignant tale enhanced by appealing illustrations. - Bournemouth Daily Echo

  • Extremely inventive. - School Librarian
