A very funny, female Adrian Mole - Magenta Orange is bright, sassy, and massively accident-prone. Her neighbour - and nearest thing to a best friend a boy can be - Daniel, tries hard to dissuade her from some of her more impulsive actions, but it's a tough job ...

Calamity seems to follow Magenta everywhere. Her neighbour, Daniel, tries to help but, inevitably, ends up inveigled into her schemes with hilarious results.

Magenta has set her sights on Year 11 heart-throb, Adam Jordan, but all her attempts to impress him are thwarted by a series of mishaps. Adam is convinced she is a jinx and tries to avoid her at all costs - while Daniel spends his time trying to demonstrate his undying affection for Magenta - will the best man win

Echo Freer

Echo Freer was born and brought up in Yorkshire. After training to be a teacher, she moved to London, where she taught Special Needs in one of London's social priority areas. When her son was diagnosed as severely dyslexic, she completed a specialist training course to teach and diagnose specific learning difficulties. She now assesses and teaches under-achieving children. She lives in London.
