Fiona was born in a youth hotel in Yorkshire. She started working on teen magazine Jackie at age seventeen, then went on to join Just Seventeen and more!. Fiona has three grown-up children, writes for many newspapers and magazines and lives in Glasgow with her husband Jimmy.
