Graeme Blundell became Australia's first sex symbol when the hit movie 'Alvin Purple' opened in 1973. A reluctant pin-up, he quickly became a household name and is one of our most well-known actors.
But Alvin is only one part of Blundell's diverse career. He was a founder of Melbourne's theatre groups La Mama, The Australian Performing Group and Playbox, which changed the face of Australian culture. He has directed over a hundred plays, acted in about the same number, and appeared in ground-breaking popular Australian films, including 'Don's Party', and television series such as 'The Box'. He is now an acclaimed writer and journalist.
THE NAKED TRUTH is Graeme Blundell's personal insight into the early years of truly independent local theatre, the wild film industry in the 1970s, the controversial rise of Australian television, and his role in each of them.

Graeme Blundell
An actor, producer, award-winning director, highly regarded journalist, and the television critic for The Australian, Graeme Blundell has been associated with many pivotal moments in Australian television, theatre and film. His books include his autobiography, The Naked Truth, and the biography, King: The Life and Comedy of Graham Kennedy. He is also the co-author of a biography of painter Brett Whiteley, An Unauthorised Life, and the editor of Australian Theatre: Backstage with Graeme Blundell.
