Praise for The Best of Matt 2023: A brilliantly entertaining collection from the nation s favourite cartoonist

  • Manages to somehow encapsulate and visualise, in one frame, a mood or feeling within the country and make us gasp and laugh in delighted recognition - THE TIMES

  • I stand in silent wonder every morning at the genius of Matt

  • Successful cartoonists do not only need to be able to draw, they have to think of subjects to illustrate. Matt has shown that he has a genius for both, as well as the ability of think of wonderfully appropriate swipes at the idiocies of contemporary life

  • No one can be funny every time - except Matt

  • Matt is the Don Bradman of daily cartoonists - so much greater than his nearest rivals it's almost embarrassing

  • I think Matt is hilarious

  • Matt is such a genius ... on a grey day he can make you feel that the world is all right again

  • That rare thing - a daily cartoonist who never fails - THE TIMES
