The author, Robin Walker, is one of the world's leading authorities on African history. Published in 2006, his book When We Ruled is 'the most advanced historical synthesis on the history of Africa and its people', and has established Robin as the leading authority on the topic in the English-speaking world. Robin is also the author of the prize-winning Black History Matters.
