A wonderful addition to young adult genres and an amazing work of author Sam Hawksmoor... utterly remarkable. - thoughtsandroses.blogspot
Sam Hawksmoor is a former Course Leader for two MA in Creative Writing programmes, joint editor of the long runnning web magazine - http://www.hackwriters.com and has lived in Canada, France, USA and the UK - sometimes travel writing - sometimes teaching or when absolutely broke panning for gold in BC. (It's way harder than you think.)
Under a pseudonym he has written historical novels set in the American West (Diamonds - the Rush of '72) as well as contemporary thrillers set in Canada, but now concentrates on YA fiction because that's the most fun in writing today. His favourite writers are Paulo Bacigalupi, Carrie Mac, Raymond Chandler and Philip K Dick and it's far to hard to pick out favourite movies but Nine (The sock puppet Armaggedon one), Bladerunner, Hot Tub Time Machine stand out (OK he meant High Fidelity but secretly HTTM is more fun). His favourite place is Vancouver, BC and his best beach is Llandudno in Cape Town and yes, he loves Bat for Lashes and The Pierces.
The Repossession is joint winner of The Wirral Paperback of the Year and Bronze Winner of the Sussex Amazing Book Award. It was also shortlisted for the Leeds Book Award.
