In this exclusive digital short story, Catherine King tells a passionate and heartrending tale of a love affair that is determined to survive against all odds.
Catherine King was born in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. A search for her roots - her father, grandfather and great-grandfather all worked with coal, steel or iron - and an interest in local industrial history provided inspiration for her stories.
