And over the years we have been lucky enough to have found some lovely spots to, in some instances embrace the winter chill, or the preferred option…escape it altogether!
I know it’s chilly, but Tasmania is so beautiful and charming. Much to my husband's reluctance of going somewhere cold there really is nothing better than strolling through the Salamanca Market in Hobart on a winters day. Beanie and gloves on sampling delicious local produce before heading back to a cosy fireplace to eat ALL the cheeses and sweet treats, Tassie is a definite must, you won’t even care it’s cold.

Okay, so this makes everyone happy. To escape the winter chill one year we ventured over to beautiful Hawaii. It was actually a month after our Hobart visit and we had become so sick we couldn’t think of anything worse than boarding a plane (even if it was to Hawaii) Happy to report we survived the journey (Asthma pump in tow – Rock n’ Roll!) To beat the winter chill and to recover we ate lobster, strolled along the beaches and smashed factory outlets so hard we were soon fully recovered (got to love retail therapy)

Rain, hail or shine Fiji is always a great idea.
Not only for the gorgeous people, the culture, beaches, food, relaxation and warmth, it was also where we decided to get married. On the beach at sunset, on this very little island the Wicked Walu we escaped an Aussie winter and said ‘I definitely do’ in beautiful Fiji. Bula Vinaka!
